Preferences Screen



This screen shows the available User Preferences and can be accessed via the File menu.





Note: Most buttons have tool-tips. Hover your mouse over a button to display the tool tip.



Default Folder for Report .essd files

Click Browse to select a default folder for saving your Report working files. You can override this choice when the file is being saved.


The essd Report file is the file you create each time you want to generate an ESS Report. Saving this file allows you to open it later and continue working on it, adding more employees or editing the file. Once complete, you will generate the electronic lodgment file called ESSAR.E01.


Default Folder for ESSAR.E01 lodgment and related files

Click Browse to select a default folder for saving the ESSAR.E01 type files. You can override this choice when the file is being generated.


The ESSAR.E01 file is the end result of ESS Reporter. It is the file you must lodge with the ATO, via Online Services for Business or Agent's Portals.


Folder for ProviderList.mpl file

Click Browse to select a default folder for saving the ProviderList file.


The ProviderList file is created in the background. It contains the information of the Provider. You may store the details of numerous Providers. Storing this information in a permanent file saves you having to enter the Provider information each time, you can simply select the Provider you want from a Provider List.


Default Folder where PDF ESS Statements are saved

Click Browse to select the folder where you saving the Employee's ESS Statements.



Print $0 on ESS Statements

Tick this box to print $0 on ESS statements, un-tick to leave $0 fields blank.


Check for Updates on Startup

Tick this box to allow a "check for updates" on startup. It is recommended you tick this box as it will ensure you are using the most up-to-date version available.

This would include bug fixes or any other required changes.


"Check for Updates" requires an available internet connection. No data is sent during the session. The program simply reads one line from our server which contains the latest version number. This is then checked against your current version number. You will be alerted if an update is available. You will then need to manually download and install it.


You can manually trigger the "check for updates" from the About screen and under the Help menu item.

Access Help for this screen.


Cancel

Close this screen without saving any changes. This will bring you back to the Main Screen.


Save

Clicking this button will save any changes and return you to the Main Screen.
