AR202x Files

If you are an AR202x user, we have added some tools to assist with change-over to STP Creator. For example you can turn off STP Reporting in your MYOB file. This will stop AR202x trying to log you into MYOB’s Payroll Reporting Centre every time you want to do Payroll. Once this is switched off, it also means you can edit and delete payroll transactions. You can also switch it back on if you want to log into MYOB’s Payroll Reporting Centre. You can also import any STP Phase 2 mapping if you have already set this up in your MYOB file.

If a AR202x company file is 'registered' for STP Reporting, when you go to process Payroll, you are prompted to Sign In to MYOB's Payroll Reporting Centre so the Payroll can be reported to the ATO.

Import Current Mapping

If you have assigned Payroll Categories to Phase 2 STP Reporting Fields, these settings can be imported to the Data Set file, saving you the need to map them. Click here to update the current mapping in this Data Set file using the settings in the MYOB file.

Currently using a temp copy

This message is simply to remind you that any change you are about to make will NOT affect your original or current file, only the temp copy STP Creator is currently using.

By way of explanation, STP Creator cannot connect to an .myox file (for example an AR2022 company file) if that file is on a different computer, or if that file is accessed via a mapped network drive. This is a limitation in the database engine used and is not specific to STP Creator. MYOB (for example AR2022) gets around this by running 2 services on the other computer and accessing the database engine via those services.

So if the MYOB .myox file is stored on another computer, there are 2 solutions:

See more info about these options at Accessing the MYOB file.

The above message indicates you are using Method 1. So if you change the setting on the temp copy, it will not affect your original file. To change the setting on your original file, you could:

a. Install and run STP Creator from the server or computer that hosts your MYOB file via a local path, or

b. When others are not using the original MYOB file:

    1. Rename the original file to ensure no-one uses it
    2. Copy the renamed original file across to this computer and save to the desktop (or other accessible location).
    3. Run STP Creator and open your Data Set file
    4. From the Permanent Data Set screen use Browse 3 to link the Data Set file to the copy on the desktop
    5. Load the Data from the MYOB file
    6. Use the above Tools Menu to change the STP Reporting setting as required.
    7. Close STP Creator
    8. Copy the file back across to the server, and rename to match original filename
    9. Delete copy for desktop on this computer
    10. Next time you open this Data Set file, don't forget to use Browse 3 from the Permanent Data Set screen to link the Data Set file back to the original file on the server
